United Airlines have launched a new service in December between Brisbane and Los Angeles, operating a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This non-stop service will fly three times a week and significantly boost the capacity to the United States out of Brisbane.
The new service comes on top of the existing daily non-stop flights between BNE and SFO and brings the total number of flights between Brisbane and the US to ten weekly.
The additional flights increase space for Queensland exporters. The inaugural United Airlines flight to San Francisco carried 15 tonnes of high-quality chilled Queensland beef bound for US dining tables, according to a media release from Brisbane Airport. The US services will continue to carry full loads of exports including beef, lamb and seafood, generating millions of dollars of revenue for Queensland businesses and supporting local jobs.
A milestone was achieved at last week’s maiden SFO flight, with the sight of two Dreamliners from United Airlines parked side by side at Brisbane Airport’s International Terminal for the first time.
United Airlines now flies non-stop services out of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to Los Angeles and San Francisco, with connections to its United Cargo facilities around the U.S. – LAX and SFO are just two of its cargo hubs, with others in Chicago, Denver, Houston, New York/Newark and Washington, D.C., offering enhanced services to and from Asia and Australia.
