Regulations for Indonesian Shipments

The Indonesian government under the Ministry of Finance has announced regulation No. 158/PMK.04/2017, which took effect for all vessels arriving there after May 2018. The regulation requires the Bill of Lading to show Consignee’s/Importer Tax ID Number & Cargo HS Code (first 4 digits) when submitting the manifest/import document to the port of authority/customs office.

All Bill of Ladings have to indicate the following, as required by Indonesian Customs;
1. Tax ID (can be obtained from consignee in Indonesia)
2.  First 4 digits of the HS code (description of goods)
NOTE: All consignees in Indonesia will have a Tax ID. This is mandatory regulation and shipments should not be despatched if it’s unavailable.

The NPWP Tax ID number must be provided in the following format:
 NPWP+00.000.000.0-000.000      or     NPWP+000000000000000

 HS Code – (Min) 4 digits HS code is required to be captured in both HS code field and Cargo Description.
The following information must be included on shipping manifests in order to be accepted:
 
Exports from Oceania to Indonesia:
– NPWP (Indonesian Tax ID) – to be added in the Consignee column in the format above
– HS CODE (6 digits) – to be added in Cargo Description (first line)

Imports from Indonesia to Oceania:
– NPWP (Indonesian Tax ID) – to be added in the Shipper column in the format above
– HS CODE (6 digits) – to be added in Cargo Description (first line)
