The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has advised that Australian small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) are eligible to apply for grants under the Singapore-Australia Go-Green Co-Innovation Program (GGCIP). A virtual information session on the program will be held on 07 September 2023.
This session will focus on the application process for Australian applicants, including eligibility and assessment criteria, and the proposed timeline.
The GGCIP is a A$20 million (S$17.8 million) fund jointly administered by Enterprise Singapore and DFAT. It aims to incentivise co-innovation between Australia and Singapore SMEs, fostering the establishment or expansion in business and commercial activities that boost bilateral trade in goods and services across green growth sectors.
The two countries will work together to support SMEs in their efforts to jointly develop innovative green products, services or technology that will lead to the establishment or expansion of business and commercial activities that further promote trade between the two countries.
Support for projects will be provided in the form of grants and business matching services. Participating SMEs will be expected to also invest resources into their projects. Grants can be used to fund the development and commercialisation of products, services or solutions that drive the decarbonisation of economic activities or help Singapore and Australia transition to net zero emissions.
Grants will support projects that focus on priority green economy sectors, including:
- Renewable and clean energy
- Waste management and circular economy
- Sustainable agribusiness and food
- Green transportation and logistics
- Built environment and infrastructure
- Energy efficient technologies and products
- Advanced manufacturing and sustainable materials
- Environmental monitoring, analysis, and assessment
Grants applications will open in September 2023. The virtual information session on 07 September will be held at 14:00 – 15:30 AEST I 12:00 – 13:30 SGT.
