Finalists for the 60th Australian Export Awards unveiled. The Australian Export Awards will this year celebrate its Diamond anniversary of showcasing the achievements of Australia’s leading exporters. Since the inaugural awards were held in 1963, the annual program has recognised 1,990 Australian businesses for their achievements, with 744 businesses winning category awards. A further 14 exporters have been inducted into the Australian Exporter Hall of Fame.
The event is a national program that recognises and honours both Australian exporters who have achieved sustainable growth through innovation and commitment, as well as the international companies or joint ventures that have made an enduring contribution to the Australian economy.
The Australian Trade and Investment Commission and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry partner to present this national program, and it is made possible through the collaboration of the States and Territories.
In a media release this week, the Minister for Trade, Don Farrell said, “I look forward to announcing the Australian Exporter of the Year at the 60th Australian Export Awards National Ceremony on 24 November.
“Congratulations to the 84 businesses from across the country who will compete as national finalists at the 2022 Australian Export Awards, the event’s diamond anniversary.
“These finalists have made significant contribution to Australia’s economy while navigating numerous challenges over recent years.
“This year’s 84 national finalists have collectively employed more than 12,600 Australians and generated over $1.9 billion in export earnings during the last financial year. This is despite dealing with many issues including logistics and global supply chain disruptions.
“What is especially encouraging is 41 per cent of the national finalists are led by women, either independently or jointly, and 30 per cent are small businesses with less than 20 employees.”
Supported by many of Australia’s leading corporations, export facilitators and industry groups, the Australian Export Awards program remains a high priority of the Australian Government.
